Police launch probe after vehicles gutted in north Belfast blaze

POLICE are investigating after a lorry and a forklift truck were destroyed in a blaze in north Belfast.

The fire broke out at the skip hire business on the Crumlin Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Two sheds were also gutted.

No one was injured in the blaze which was put out by crews from the Fire and Rescue Service.

It is not yet known what sparked the fire.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “The cause of the fire is under investigation.”

Forensic experts will examine the smouldering embers to try and determine if the fire was accidental or malicious.
