Police arrest a man over stolen car in north Belfast

ONE man has been arrested in connection with the theft of a car during a ‘creeper’ burglary in north Belfast.

A silver Chrysler 300 – registration number JBX JX – was stolen from a house in the Highgate Manor area of Newtownabbey early on Wednesday morning.

Shortly after 7am the stolen car failed to stop for police in the Hightown Road area while heading in the direction of the Crumlin Road.

Around two hours later it was found in the Brae Hill area.

Four men then made off on foot from the car – three in the direction of Silverstream and the other towards the Crumlin Road.

A 20 year-old man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of burglary and vehicle taking.

Police are appealing for information on three other men thought to be in their late teens or early 20s.
