The mangled front of the Mercedes ambulance following crash in west Belfast

THREE paramedics have been taken to hospital after their ambulance was involved in a collision in west Belfast.

The crew were transporting a seriously ill patient to hospital when it was involved in the crash on the Grosvenor Road, at its junction with the Westlink.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police are urging drivers to avoid the area. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the PSNI on 0845 600 8000.
