Detectives issue description of man over rape in west Belfast

DETECTIVES are urgently hunting a sexual predator in west Belfast before he attacks again.

Police said they are seeking a middle-aged man for questioning after the rape of a young teenage girl in west Belfast on Saturday night.

Already, PSNI patrols have been stepped up in the area following concerns from the local community that a prowling sex beast was still in their midst.

The terrified girl was attacked at Laurel Glen near the Stewartstown Road and police have released a description of a man they want to speak to in relation to the incident.

The man is believed to be aged between 40 and 50 years old, and between 5’8’’ and 5’10’’ in height.

He has short brown or ginger hair and stubble and was wearing a dark jacket and dark trousers or jeans.

Police said the man spoke to the girl at around 8pm on the night at the Suffolk Road near the junction with Woodburn Crescent.
