Police warn youths against getting involved in arranged fights

THE PSNI say it will take action against those involved in ‘arranged fights’ in north Belfast.

Police at York Road said that in recent days officers from its Neighbourhool Patrol Team (NPT) have attended reports of activity in area of Alexandra Park Avenue.

“We have recorded details of youths gathering,” say York Road PSNI.

“If people continue to engage in this behaviour NPT will commence anti social behaviour orders (ASBO) on persistent offenders.”

In February, police and community workers warned of the dangers of young people getting involved in arranged fights.

Police said they were concerned that some of the youths were going to the fights at the Waterworks on the Antrim Road were carrying knives.
