Road closed in Newtownabbey after man is seriously assaulted

DETECTIVES are investigating a serious assault in Co Antrim.

As a result a road in Newtownabbey, County Antrim, has been closed as crime scene investigators search for clues.

Police have closed the Carnmoney Road between Coolehill Park and Burnthill Road as the crime scene investigation continues.

It is understood the attack happened between midnight on Sunday and 1 am on Monday morning.

There are no further details of the assault at this time.
