Police at the scene of a second security alert in west Belfast on Friday night

POLICE attended the scene of a second security in west Belfast on Friday night

Divis Street in the Lower Falls area was closed to traffic and motorists after the discovery of a suspicious object.

Army technical officers were tasked to the scene.

However, following an examination it was declared a hoax.

Divis community centre was opened for residents who had been evacuated from their homes.

Earlier, two viable pipe bombs were found in the the Lenadoon area of west Belfast following police raids.
