Army bomb experts examine suspicious object in Newtownabbey

ARMY Techical Officers are at the scene of a security alert following the discovery of a suspicious object in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim.

The item was found in the Doagh Road area on Monday evening and police have cordoned off the area.

The Doagh Road has been closed to traffic and diversions are in place at Green End and Abbots Cross.

In Lurgan, Translink have said the train line is closed because of a security alert.

The Enterprise will operate between Portadown and Dublin, while passengers in Belfast will be transferred to and from Newry via bus.
