PSNI charge man after stolen car crashes into police vehicle

A 25-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences after a stolen car crashed into a police vehicle in west Belfast.

The charges include aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving and four counts of assault on police.

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning.

A 17-year-old boy also arrested in connection with the incident has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The pair were detained shortly before 10am on Sunday at Albert Street in the lower Falls area.

Police had received a report of a car doing handbrake turns in the area. The vehicle had been reported stolen from the Newtownards Road on Saturday night.

No one was injured in the crash
