DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team (MIT) probing the murder of Jason McGovern made a fresh arrest on Wednesday.
Plaint-clothed police arrested a 21-year-old woman in the Omagh area of Co Tyrone.
Mr McGovern, a 19-year-old from Tydavnet, Co Monaghan, was assaulted on two separate occasions during a night out in Omagh.
He was found dead in a house in County Monaghan hours later on New Year’s Eve. He had suffered a head injury.
A 21-year-old man arrested on Monday was earlier released on bail pending further inquiries.
Four men and a youth appeared in court on Saturday on charges of affray in connection with Mr McGovern’s death.
The investigation is being headed up by Detective Chief Inspector Ricky Harkness.
He has made a number of appeals for information to the two assaults on Jason McGovern.
