Detectives quiz teenager over Co Tyrone murder

DETECTIVES have launched a murder investigation following the death of a 60-year-old man in Co Tyrone.

The body of the man was found on Friday evening in the Aghindarragh Road area of Augher.

An 18-year-old man, who  is believed to be the victim’s son, was arrested in a follow up operation and is still in custody on Sunday.

The dead man’s name has not been released and detectives have not yet released details of how the elderly man died.

Local UUP councillor Alan Rainey said the community had been left “shocked and numbed” at the death.

“They just can’t really take it in that something of this nature could happen,” added Cllr Rainey.
