DETECTIVES are hunting a suspect to tried and failed to hold up a bookmaker’s shop on Wednesday.
The attempted armed robbery happened on the Falls Road in west Belfast at 9.30 pm.
Police were called to the scene following a report that a man had entered the bookies with a “suspected firearm and demanded money”.
However, the suspect fled empty handed after his demands were refused.
Police say the would-be robber is described as being about 5ft 9in tall, wearing a hooded top, blue jeans and had a scarf over his face.
Detectives at Grovesnor Road CID have asked anyone with information to get in touch.
