FIRE CREWS CUT WOMAN FROM CAR AFTER ACCIDENT WITH BUS

Police charge man with east Belfast rape

POLICE are examining the scene of an accident involving a car and a bus on Wednesday afternoon.

Fire and ambulance crews were sent on an emergency call to Market Street in Downpatrick, Co down.

They attended the scene of a collision between a car and a Translink bus.

After an examination of the damage, a fire team with specialist hydraulic equipment  cut the woman driver from the car.

Paramedics are dealing with a number of shocked bus passengers.

Diversions are now in place in Irish Street and St Patrick’s Avenue and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
