POLICE FIND RICH PICKINGS FOR THIEVES ON VIEW IN HOLYLAND CARS

Police warn motorists to lock away valuables in boot

POLICE in Laganbank are warning motorists to lock away their valuables in the boot of their cars.

Neighbourhood police teams spent the fast few days browsing in car windows parked in the Holyland district off the Ormeau Road, in south Belfast.

Laganbank PSNI said: “We’ve been looking thorough car windows the last few days in the Holylands seeing what’s up for grabs this Christmas.

“And we found plenty on display, including laptops, portable DVD players, car radios and loads of bags, no doubt filled with goodies.

“We’ll be sending out letters to the owners of those cars we have identified as being vulnerable to car crime.

“Taking simple steps such as parking in a well lit area and removing all valuable items from display will reduce the likelihood of your car being broken into this Christmas.”
