BOMB ALERT FORCES PUPILS AND STAFF AT FOUR BELFAST SCHOOLS TO STAY INDOORS

PSNI hunt for knife-point

A NORTH Belfast bomb alert has forced staff and pupils at four primary schools to stay indoors until the area is made safe.

Police have cordoned off an area while Army bomb disposal officers deal with a suspicious object found in Ballymagarry Lane close to Springhill Primary School.

This school along with Springfield, Harmoney and Forthriver primary schools have been affected.

PSNI officers are evacuating homes near to the scene while the device is dealth with.

A PSNI spokesperson said parents wishing to access the schools will not be able to use Ballygomartin Road.

However, they will be able to get to the schools via Springmartin Road.
