NICE ONE BOYCEY! HOT SHOT LIAM IS OCTOBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH

NICE ONE BOYCEY: Liam picks up October Player of the Month

REDS in form striker Liam Boyce has been named as the Northern Ireland Football Writers’ Player of the Month for October.

He bagged four Premiership goals in a run of seven in as many games which propelled Cliftonville FC to the top of the table.

“The whole team had a good month but we think we can get better,” said Boyce.

“We’re always told just to go out, play the game and don’t pay attention to anything that’s going on around us.

“I personally feel that I am not at my best yet but the partnership with Joe Gormley is going well,” added the former Werder Bremen forward.

Cliftonville saw off a challenge from Glentoran to secure Boyce’s signature when the Northern Ireland international returned to domestic football.

Ballinamallard skipper Mark Stafford was second in the poll, with Crusaders midfielder Paul Heatley third by NI’s sports writers.
