Police alert elderly over bogus hearing aid tests

FIVE people have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in west Belfast.

Four men and a woman were detained after the robbery at a shop in the Beechmount Avenue area on Wednesday at around 9.40am.

A sum of money was taken in the robbery.

Less than an hour later a red Volkswagen Bora was stopped in the Springfield Park area. The occupants were arrested and a sum of money was recovered.

A man, 25, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

A woman aged 19 and three men aged 30, 26 and 18 were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

They are all currently assisting police with their enquiries.
