DETECTIVES are hunting thieves who stole a quantity of jewellery during an aggravated burglary in Portavogie, County Down.

A masked man carrying a tyre iron entered a house in the New Road area around 9.20pm on Friday night and ordered two men to lie down on the ground.

A quantity of prescription drugs was also taken during the burglary.

It is believed there may have been up to three other intruders in the house at the time of the incident.

Police have appealed for any information about the robbery to come forward
