BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: MAN SHOT DEAD IN NORTH BELFAST

The murder scene tonight in Longlands, Netownabbey.

POLICE HAVE launched a murder probe after a man was shot dead in a hail of gunfire tonight.

Sources named the victim as Danny McKay who was gunned down in the mainly nationalist Longlands estate in Newtownabbey on the outskirts of north Belfast around 8pm this evening.

And same sources claim two guns may have been used in the gangland-style hit.

Sources said the father-of-one, who is in his late 30s, was shot at least six times at close range inside a house on the estate he shares with his partner.

Belfast Daily has just learned that police rammed a car in the Glasveigh area of west Belfast with three men on board not long after the shooting, although it is not know yet if it is related to the murder.

Sources said the Glasveigh area is now saturated with police and the area around the car is sealed off.

Detectives and uniform PSNI officers have sealed off the area in Longlands and are now hunting a gunman.

A CSI team is now at the scene looking for evidential clues.

The PSNI said there are no further details at the moment.
