AN 85TH minute header from Captain Marvel John O’Shea helped secure Sunderland a point against their arch rivals Newcastle this afternoon.
The Geordies were down to 10 men in the second half when Tiote was sent off for a high challenge as they led 1-0 with a Demba Ba first half goal.
And the Black Cats upped the pressure and with five minutes left on the clock defender John O’Shea popped up with a deflected header into the Newcastle net from a free kick.
It was well needed point by Sunderland and it spared manager Martin O’Neill’s blushes in a frenetic game.
