MAN IN COURT THIS MORNING ON £200,000 DRUGS BUST

Blocks of cannabis

A man is to face a court this morning after a massive drugs bust in east Belfast at the weekend.

Detectives from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch raided a house in the Castlereagh area on Saturday.

Officers found cannabis with an estimated street value of £200,000 during the bust.

The PSNI have described the seizure as “quite significant’’. It brings to almost £500,000 worth of drugs seized in the past few weeks during co-ordinated raids in a bid to stem the tide of llegal cash falling into the hands or organised crime gangs.

A 28-year-old man was arrested as part of the intelligence raids in east Belfast. He will appear later this morning in the dock of Newtownards Magistrates Court.
